Our services are – Training to public, private and third sector to increase their understanding of minority ethnic communities. Translation and Interpretation services for all sectors and people to reduce barriers to communication and ensure ethnic minorities have equal access to services. Consultation and training support to ethnic minority groups to promote their economic development, entrepreneurship and employability skills. Interactive activities and multicultural events to promote community cohesion and social inclusion of ethnic minorities.
The Tayside Deaf Hub is a social enterprise originally opened up to support the Deaf community in Tayside, providing a unique environment, with a fully functional bar, function room, café, and outside catering. It has been open for just over 4 years, I currently train and support people in the kitchen and out front in the café, it’s a great way for people to gain new skills, gain confidence, and increase job prospects. The Café can currently accommodate up to 60 people, we provide full menu, hot drinks, freshly made cakes and daily specials. We are currently looking for groups and individuals in the local community to come use our services. We hope to organise coffee mornings, lunch club, community diners, etc.
Creative workshops to Organisations. Pottery and painting with children, families and adults. Craft parties. Hire of resources/space for artist classes. Working with Organisations to create artwork for their space. Sale of artwork. Skill sessions for unemployed young people.
The Dundee and Angus ADHD Support Group provides weekly youth groups for children with ADHD aged between 5 – 18 years of age, monthly parent support groups, ‘One stop shop’ where parents/cares can come along for a chat from 10.00 – 14.00 Monday to Friday, professional workshops on ADHD, Yearly conference and play schemes for the children at school holidays. We also have bingo nights and other activities on throughout the year. We have recently opened an ADHD Charity Shop in Albert Street, Dundee and our hall is available to hire out in our ADHD Centre.
We provide advocacy and advice to people with visual impairments. We also provide a full social timetable to help tackle the social isolation and loneliness that some with a visual impairment can experience. Carry out Low Visual Assessments and Visual Awareness Training. Rooms available to rent by the hour and catering can be provided
Run a payroll service for disabled employees using a direct payment in Dundee and Angus. Support and information for carers of all ages. Direct payments management includes supporting employers with recruitment, contracts and training. CGate opened in October 2015 and offers excellent facilities and flexible layouts, ideal for a wide variety of uses such as meetings, training and corporate events. This facility which is situated in the City Centre ad available at competitive rates can be booked on an hourly, half day or full day basis.
