Dundee Futures Fund LOGO final (003)Dundee Futures Fund is one of 21 projects across Dundee which is funded by the Rank Foundation over the next three years as part of its latest round of funding. Established more than 60 years ago The Rank Foundation was set up by film mogul J Arthur Rank as a reflection of his strong Christian faith.

The Rank Foundation aims to improve the lives of people and their communities, across the UK, by:

  • Encouraging and developing leadership
  • Promoting enterprise and innovation
  • Caring for the disadvantaged and the marginalised

The Rank Foundation’s investment in Dundee is their largest place-based funding commitment in the U.K. Projects will contribute to their strategy by focusing on leadership, enterprise and care.

This is a three year programme of funding and support.

Grants

Feasibility Grant: An Award of up to £1500 to help applicants/social entrepreneurs to try out and test their idea for feasibility.

Main grant: An Award of up to £5000 for early stage social enterprises, and aspiring social enterprises. The Award is for applicants based within Dundee City area, or proposed Social Enterprise to be based within Dundee City area and who are able to demonstrate the impact of their work for Dundee through a strong business case.

(In addition to the grants training, marketing and legal support are provided)

Who can apply?

  • People with an idea to start up a Social Enterprise and in need of initial funding e.g. a Feasibility grant to help try and test their ideas.
  • A new social enterprise at the start of trading, where a grant would reduce a barrier to operating.
  • Existing social enterprises with an annual turnover of less than £75K and trading for less than 2 years for whom a £5K grant would overcome a significant challenge.
  • Applicants for Main Grant must meet the requirements of the Voluntary Code of Practice for Social Enterprise
