Making Social Enterprise & Communities Stronger
What is Social Enterprise?
Social enterprises are an increasingly popular and effective way of doing business. They are innovative, independent organisations with a clear social and/or environmental purpose, reinvesting their profits to create positive impact for communities and the environment.
As consumers become more socially and environmentally conscious about where they spend their money, demand for social enterprises continues to grow—creating new opportunities for ethical, purpose-driven businesses to thrive.
There are now over 6,000 social enterprises operating across Scotland, contributing more than £2.8 billion to the economy and supporting over 90,000 jobs nationwide.
Dundee Social Enterprise Network supports, develops and helps to grow social enterprises of all sizes and specialisms.
Our staff team can offer direct practical support and advice to existing and aspiring social enterprises in Dundee. This includes help to access funding and loans, procurement and tendering opportunities, business support, information and training.
